๐ Referrals & Affiliates
Send someone to Compass and you earn a share of what they pay.
There are two versions of that deal. One is open to every account. One you apply for.
| Open referral | Affiliate | |
|---|---|---|
| Who | Everyone, no signup | Apply and be approved |
| You earn | 20%, flat | 15% to 30%, by tier |
| Second level | none | 3% |
| Paid in | Account credits | Cash |
| For how long | 6 months per referee | 12 months |
| Payout hold | n/a | 30 days |
The open referral program
Your link is on the Refer page. Nothing to sign up for.
- You earn 20% of what your referees pay, for six months from each one's first payment.
- Paid as account credits, at 60 credits per dollar, in a monthly batch.
- They get 100 credits too, once they verify their email.
Both sides come out ahead, which is what makes the link worth sending.
What that is worth: 20% of a $99 Pro subscription is about 1,200 credits a month, which is 120 unlocks. Three referred Pro accounts roughly cover a Pro plan of your own.
The affiliate program
If you send people regularly, apply to become an affiliate. Better rates, and you get paid in money rather than credits.
Your rate is set by how many of your introductions are paying customers. Reach a tier and every account you have already brought moves up with you, from its next invoice.
| Tier | Rate | Paying accounts |
|---|---|---|
| Explorer | 15% | your first 9 |
| Flag Bearer | 20% | 10 to 19 |
| Navigator | 25% | 20 to 49 |
| Principal | 30% | 50 and up, plus exclusive monthly contracts |
Your first paying introduction is the exception: it earns 30% for as long as it keeps paying, whatever tier you are on.
Second level means you earn 3% on the people your referees themselves refer. That stays flat at 3% on every tier.
Approval is not retroactive, and that is deliberate.

Anyone you referred before approval stays on the open program's terms. The alternative would re-price your entire back book the moment you were approved, which sounds generous until you notice it also re-prices it the moment anything changes the other way.
Which one is worth your time
| If you | Then |
|---|---|
| Know a few people who would use Compass | Send the link. The open program already covers it |
| Have an audience: newsletter, community, agency onboarding crypto teams | Apply for affiliate |
| Send one or two people a year | The link. The application is not worth your time |
Where to watch it
Your referrals page shows who signed up through your link, who has paid, and what you have earned. Affiliate earnings and payout status live on the affiliates page.
